I just joined today. Installation was fairly easy, updated the launcher first and then I was able to see the latest version that was supposed to improve Hulu playback.

Of course, as this is my first time, when I start Boxee, I see the option "Add New". I click on it and a login screen appears, so far so good, but I don't know what to do next. Do I need a keyboard to enter my login and password? Is there a way to bring up a virtual keyboard so that I can use the remote only?

This happened to me too. A keyboard is supposed to come up for you to enter your id/password, but no amount of clicking causes this to happen.

You do need an alpha id/password from boxee.

I just went back and updated the boxee, xmbc, and menu items again and it finally let me in.

I have a login name from boxee, but the keyboard does not appear. I already have the latest version, so I don't even know if it will let me install things again. I'll look around again tonight. Shame, everything was going very smoothly until that step.

Dont install again, just update again. I updated all those several times so I dont think it is an issue.

Thanks. I'll report back tonight.

Somehow this time pressing the "play" button brought up the virtual keyboard, even though I have not updated anything. Thanks for your help anyways...

I've noticed that I have to go extra slow with inputing each key or it'll pick up the incorrect key. For instance, if I click on the letter i and then move the cursor to the right, the letter o will show up instead. This is especially frustrating with the password field, since I can't see the letters as they appear. Anyone else run into this?
