Why does Boxee ignore ID3 tags in my music collection and instead attempt to guess at the information?

I have a good deal of uncommon music, and I have spent a lot of time tagging, organizing and adding album art to my music files to near perfection. However, when I index my collection in Boxee, all of this hard work is wasted and Boxee makes (mostly incorrect) guesses based on Internet queries (I assume). I have no problems with my collection in XBMC.

Additionally, I think there should be a party mode (similar to XBMC). I seldom wish to only listen to just one CD at a time.

hi uncon

we understand your dilemma ..you can manually try and recognize your music..boxee should read your ID3 tags .can you send me an example of the music not indexed..

Example:
I have a Starbucks Album called Remember artist John Lennon. As this is not a standard release, I have never found it on any site. Boxee sees this as Remember by Josh Groban although it does show the correct jpg. I try and manually resolve this and do not have the option of selecting the correct album. I also have some Japanese utf 8 enabled music which Boxee cannot resolve. Would be very happy to forward you what files you ened to confirm and or resolve this.

Thanks
