You will need to get the install files onto a USB stick but no reason why it wouldn't work with your atv if you are able to obtain the USB files.

If you have any friends who own a mac then get them to create the patch stick for you.

gparted supports creation of hfs+ file systems, and offers a live cd:

you can also try to run a osx tiger image in vmware on a windows sys.
i have heard it works.
i used a osx86 sys myself to create the patchstick

There is ATV4Windows patchstick which should allow you to patch the AppleTV and get in via SSH. From there you might be able to manually install Boxee. Not sure though.

Or you could turn your Windows PC into Linux and run it on there :)

the site for patchsticking with windows says it should be available soon 10/27-10-31.

I also have a windows machine, but used a friends mac to format ;)

Or, go to an Apple store, bring your USB stick, and do it there :)

I have a WinXP PC that downloads and serves media from the net.
Here is what I did to get it to work with Boxee
1) Take a flash drive and go to the Apple store
2) Plug in your Flash drive to any demo MAC they have setup. Trust me, none of the mama boys wanna be hippies that works there steps up and asks you to stop
3) Go to the google project website, download the ATV USB creator and apply it to your flash drive.
4) go home, follow the instructions to flash your ATV on Boxee's website and you're DONE!
5) Boxee recognises windows shares and you can also downoad Twonkey as an UPNP media server to run on XP.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
oh..keep in mind that you MUST have an account on Boxee's alpha site in order to run. Once boxee is installed it will ask you for a login before it can proceed any further.
