A friend showed me boxee on a PC at work today ... so I installed it on my MacBook when I got home. I have Tiger on an Intel-based mac. I went to view the Daily Show episode we saw when he was showing me at work - and I couldn't get it to play at all. Or I should say, it was playing, but my screen was black and there was no audio. The controls showed it was playing, and I could pause it, stop it, start it, but nothing. So I tried a bunch of different video streams. I could see CNN and the Discovery Channel, but not Comedy Central or Hulu or MTV videos. It almost seems like something isn't configured right. I've googled and searched these forums, but can't find anyone else that has had the same problem - the documentation is nonexistent on this tool, so I'm not really sure if I installed it correctly or not. Any suggestions?

OK - after more googling I finally found someone that mentioned needing to update to Adobe Flashplayer 10 on unix. So I decided to try that ... installing Flashlayer 10 and rebooting solved the problem.

So if the developers are looking in on this forum ... you might want to have some release notes somewhere that mention this.

I'd like to note here ... I not only had to download and install Flashplayer 10, I had to reboot - something I don't have to do very often on my Mac. I didn't reboot until after I noticed that sites with Flash weren't even working in either Firefox or Safari.

I'm having a similar problem, some of the streaming videos will play fine and others not at all. I can play videos form the USA network but when I try to stream anything from HULU, Comedy Central, Fox, etc. the yellow loading bars will come up then it just returns back to the selection menu. However, I tried subscribing to my HULU queue with the rss feeds application and when I select the episode i want to watch through that it plays just fine.

Has anyone else had this problem? It seems to be able to play the hulu videos just fine except when I try to play them under "My TV Shows."

exact same problem as the guy above me. Except mine is specific to certain shows. LOST wont play from hulu at all (well, at random times it will), but anything else will play from hulu.

Same problem here I normally find that is a screenshot loads it means the file will play.
