Hi,

Wondering if its possible to change/disable the built in subtitle or audio tracks for the container formats that use them (mkv, ogg, etc). Right now it seems to play the first audio and subtitle track (which is sometimes annoying when its playing English audio and subtitles at the same time).

This might be something that isn't implemented yet, but a quick forum search didn't find anything so I thought I would ask.

Thanks

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how to turn off the subtitle track of the movie. I think maybe if you try quicktime pro to switch ones on or off and then try saving it might work, though that's just a shot in the dark.

Same here - I used the subtitle feature to download subs -- very cool feature btw -- but now I can't disable them from the GUI. (Switching between tracks aside, I'd like to at least be able to turn them off.)

Ditto... sometimes files I have have embedded subtitles. Very nice when you're watching foreign language pics, but not so great when it's an English source with English subtitles. How the heck do you turn subtitles off entirely when playing back .MKV files with embedded subs?

Right now its possible to turn off subs entirely through the video settings while a video is playing, which I'm not sure if I just hadn't noticed originally or is new but still not a full fix to the problem.

How? So far the video settings I've played with seem to keep trying to download new subs, but I haven't been able to get anything turned off completely. Am I missing something really obvious?

Press enter when something is playing, go to settings, audio, and uncheck enable subtitles.

Is this something that has to be done everytime you play a video with subs, or just once and it's system-wide: no subs unless you reverse the process? (which, IMO, is how it should be)

An additional question: does boxee recognize "default" for audio track in avi or by default always use the first one in the file?

Is there a defintive answer to this?

I have an mkv with Englidh subtitles embedded which I do not want/need to see.

I just want to turn subtitles off completely please.
