View Full Version : Reorder/rename episodes (Firefly)

This may only be a problem with the TV show Firefly as it has a rather unique history in that Fox aired the episodes out of order. Therefor the episode order of the DVD does not match the aired order which Boxee is pulling from thetvdb.com. However, thetvdb.com DOES have a "DVD Order" link which has the episodes listed in the DVD order. So, my question, my episode files are ordered as on the DVD, is there a way to make Boxee use the "DVD Order" from thetbdb.com or do I need to (incorrectly) rename my files to match the "Aired Order"?

marcel, don't know if you've seen the show, but i'd have to disagree. :) ...fox really screwed the pooch with firefly.

quick question, HazyBlueDot: if you use the 'wrong video' option, does it give you the option to switch to something like: firefly (dvd order)?

To make this worse with Firefly.. they even didn't show the last couple of episodes.. only available on DVD ! So when did those air ;)

Totally. Airing the pilot episode LAST? Who does that?!

So, now that we all agree on this being a great feature request. Is it possible somehow?

And while we are at it. Is it possible to group files? I have a huge collection of Looney Tunes episodes. First, they show up under Movies and second they show up all as individual clips. Not great.

not yet, no... i'm sure it will be sorted out eventually, though. :)

I would like to bump this thread back to the original question asked. Is it possible, or could it be possible in the future, to choose between aired and dvd order that thetvdb provides? My shows are all recognized now, but many of them are incorrectly labeled (more than just Firefly).

Perhaps you guys could look into using D01E01 format for DVD "Season" vs S01E01 format for aired order in case any future shows have a different order on DVD as well.

Did this ever get sorted? I am trying to see if I can use Boxee over Plex (so I can get a less expensive media pc than a mac mini) but this is an important issue. I have several DVD collections of TV shows that have a different air ordering vs dvd order. Startgate SG-1 to name one.

This is possible to do in Plex... you can modify the "source info" of a folder and change it from air order to dvd order.

Thanks,
BOb

Is there really still no solution to this?
