View Full Version : Force recognition update

October 30th, 2008, 09:37 AM
Have boxee installed on an ATV and so far I am quite impressed! I had been using many other hacks that are around for the Atv but Boxee has them all beat so far!

One small feature request though. I'm mainly uploading TV Shows to the /users/frontrow/Movies folder and Boxee is (eventually) recognizing the new uploads. It would be great to have an easily (quickly) accessible button to force a recognition of the newly uploaded files so they appear in the Video->TV Shows listings.

So far all the shows I've been downloading are being recognized properly. But sometimes waiting for Boxee to "find" the new files is a little frustrating!

Thanks again for a great product! Looking forward to V1!

hi dctrjones

welcome to boxee :)

You can manually recognize the tv shows to speed up the process by selecting one of the content videos >Info read more>wrong video? >TVshow? enter the title, season and episode ..

Thanks for the quick reply!

I had found that option, but using the ATV remote to type in the name of the Show takes quite a long time!!! All I'm looking for is something to force the update that usually happens in the background.

My wife can get a little impatient after I've uploaded the latest "So You Think You Can Dance" and we wait for Boxee to "find" it!

Usually in the end I go to Video->Sources->Local Videos which works, but scrolling through the list can sometimes take a while!

Thanks again!

regarding this feature:

when i want to do this manually it wil either recognise the entire folder, thus making all of my inputs episodes from that tv-show, or not work ...

so example:

it won recognise private practice epidsodes, so i enter name and season manually. It then wants to do this for the entire folder and all my other tvshows are suddenly recognised as private practice epidsodes as well:( i do not want to have to put my all my shows in their own folders, because that would seem it be illogical en not a very pleasant job...

Anyone else with this issue?
