View Full Version : Network Drives Scan Doesn't work

January 22nd, 2010, 01:58 PM
I've just bought a refurbished Apple TV, and i've installed Boxee on it,
It work very fine for the moment.

my setup is :

AppleTV, iMac Snow Leopard with 2 external Drive Connected.
I have setup file sharing correctly with samba on the Mac, and i can acces and read my file directly with boxee's File Browser...

the problem is that Boxee didn't scan my drives for media files, and i have nothing showed in the Media Menu.....

Is it Normal ? is there a solution to "force" Boxee to scan Network Drives ?

I know that this question has been asked many times, but i don't undersand all the discutions about this problem ( i don't speak english very well) so if someone could give me a quick and simple response that i could understand i would be great !! :)

Thanks !

hello :)
thank you very much for your answer,
i 've completely reinstall my apple tv, and Boxee,
i've deleted all the local sources on boxee and i have added my samba share as network sources....

I 've restarted Boxee, and it doesn't seems to make a difference, i have no scan....

Takes 5-10 mins for itmes to start showing under Movies, Music, and TV Shows.

Also, ensure your password for your shares doesn't have any special characters in it. (#$%@!&*^). It would seem that causes problems. LOL

it still doesn't want to work correctly, i am using xbmc right now, and scanning is working (if i choose the "samba no configuration" network)
