How do I properly un-install boxee on ATV so so that I can re-install from scratch? I currently have already installed the alpha and beta versions of Boxee for ATV... I just want to do this so i can get rid of all my user settings/sources and start over scratch. i am encountering a boxee error #4 cause i told it to find a music source that it can't find (sonus music hub).

Looking for:
1) Scripts to uninstall alpha/beta boxee for atv which removes all user settings/sources, etc.
2) Link to the best install process for alpha and beta? i assume i need to install the alpha (run scripts) and then update to beta (run scripts).

Thank you.
Norman

Firstly : You don't need to start with the alpha to install the beta. In fact, when you installed the beta, it probably removed the alpha.

Secondly: Have you tried removing your UserData folder? That would move past the problem with adding a mount that BOXEE can't recognize.

rm -rf /Users/frontrow/Library/Application Support/BOXEE/UserData

You'd lose your configuration information and when you launch boxee again, it will prompt for your username / password and you'd have to reset all your monitor settings, etc.

After logging into boxee again and logging out, you'll want to reapply (that is, recreate) the advancedsettings.xml file with

<advancedsettings>
<skiploopfilter>8</skiploopfilter>
<osx_gl_fullscreen>true</osx_gl_fullscreen>
</advancedsettings>

Dan - Thank you. I tried doing your commands via terminal mode on ATV box:

"rm -rf /Users/frontrow/Library/Application Support/BOXEE/UserData"

i got no message or error.. so hard to tell if it did what it was supposed to? and when i launched boxee again it still had my username and settings. it did not prompt me to setup a new user. any suggestions?

I'm sorry, I left out one character; there should have been a \ after the Application ... "/Users/frontrow/Library/Application\ Support/BOXEE/UserData"

Here's what you should do:
Exit out of BOXEE.
Then run:
ls -l /Users/frontrow/Library/Application\ Support/BOXEE

This should output something like this:
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 2 frontrow frontrow 68 Feb 14 02:23 Mounts
drwxr-xr-x 26 frontrow frontrow 884 Feb 14 18:56 UserData

next try:
rm -rf /Users/frontrow/Library/Application\ Support/BOXEE/UserData

Next run the ls -l command again:
ls -l /Users/frontrow/Library/Application\ Support/BOXEE

Now you should only see one directory

total 0
drwxr-xr-x 2 frontrow frontrow 68 Feb 14 02:23 Mounts

@normanfekrat

I replied to your other thread here: http://forum.boxee.tv/showpost.php?p=86747&postcount=5

This should help.

Dan - Thank you.. that did the trick. I ran your commands and that fixed my problem (ie. reset all the user settings). I don't think i need to re-create the advanced settings since I did not have any setup. Is that okay? I was not sure how to run that code.
