View Full Version : Link to download goes to Support Page?

February 26th, 2010, 11:43 PM
I know this sounds like an idiotic question...but....
if I go to the download page, and I click on the Link that has the appleTV logo and says "AppleTV Boxee Beta for AppleTV" it takes me directly ot the support page here: http://support.boxee.tv/forums/49598/entries/42684

I can click on any of the other links on the download page and they link to a downloadable file. But the one I want (Apple TV), links to the support page. Am I the only one this happens to? Is there an alternative link that I could go to? Any other ideas?
Is this happening to you? or is it just me? (Appreciate it if you'd check.) THANK YOU.

(I've installed Boxee before, have never had a problem, so this (probably :>) isn't user error.)

Sorry, I need a bit more help than that. I can (and have in the past) follow the step-by-step instructions....but I can't figure out what to do once downloading the file you link to. ? Thanks.

I downloaded atvusb Creator at the following site:

Using a patchstick from the latest version of atvusb creator installs a menu item that has installs for the latest versions of Boxee, XBMC and Launcher-you can then download and install each one directly from the ATV.

Yeah, you really don't need the download file from the Boxee site as the patchstick installs the links on the ATV menue. Done.

@StephenV ...

In order to install Boxee on the AppleTV you need to do the following:

1. Download the ATVUSB-Creator from http://code.google.com/p/atvusb-creator/
2. Insert a "bootable" USB drive into your Pc/Mac
3. Run the ATVUSB-Creator
4. Click on Create Using /or Patchstick
5. Remove the USB drive and plug it into your Apple TV
6. Power on your Apple TV and the patchstick will run the ATV bootloader
7. After the bootloader finishes, remove it and restart your Apple TV
8. It now has options for Boxee / XBMC on the main menu
9. Click on Boxee, then select update launcher and then update Boxee Beta
10. Once boxee is done installing, restart your Apple TV
11. Click "Boxee"
