if any of you have ever seen spongebob you know in each episode there are two stories. the files that i have (:o) are divided into each story. so for example s01e01a.avi and s01e01b.avi are the first and second part of the same episode. can i get boxee to recognize both files as one episode? or do i have to merge the files? This just says its for movies but it made me think it was possible.

Title.part.extension for multi-part movie both part# and cd# are supported
Examples

* Seven.Pounds.cd1.avi
* Seven.Pounds.cd2.avi
* The.Simpsons.Movie.part1.avi
* The.Simpsons.Movie.part2.avi

How would boxee display the files? with a (1) and a (2)?

When you name the files for a multi-part movie in that way Boxee lists it as a single item which automatically plays the two parts in sequence. The viewing experience is virtually the same as if you had merged the files into a single file yourself (although there is a bug in Boxee (http://jira.boxee.tv/browse/BOXEE-2609) which prevents you from rewinding past the boundary between parts).
I think the same thing may work with TV Shows, as when I was testing one of the early releases Boxee incorrectly identified two versions of an episode of a TV show (actually a 2D and 3D version of the episode) as multiple parts of that episode and played them merged together.
In that case you should probably name them as something like:
Show.Name.S01e01.part1.avi
Show.Name.S01e01.part2.avi
