Here is the reason why I say this..

I have Movies and TV shows both on the only setting I can choose in Media Settings, VIDEO.

Due to this, I have a TV shows showing up in Movies, and Movies showing up in TV Shows, and a slew of missing content that was there last time I refreshed.

Lets make it simpler and have Movies and TV Shows under content type in Media Settings. Please?

This is probably an indexing bug that should be addressed rather than coming up with work arounds.

Can you share more about which Titles are getting mixed up, etc?

Sure.

Robot Chicken - this worked before I updated.
Star Trek TNG - Everything except Season 2.

Michael Jackson's This is It - appears as a TV show.
Steven King's The Fog - appears as a TV show.
Back to the Future 1, 2 and 3 - appears as a TV show.

oh! and Hell Girl and alot of other Anime showed up under Movies.

All 50 episodes.. :|

Most of this has been an issue since I started testing Boxee month and months ago which is why I was suggesting a better way to organize the media directories. :)

Hi guys,

I'm new to Boxee, and overall I love it, but have this same issue.

Mac OS.10.4
Running v0.9.21.11497

The shows I've had issues with are Lost, Top Gear and Carnivale.

My Lost & Top Gear TV shows are indexed properly by boxee.

Are you sure you've got them named correctly?

Excuse my inorance, but what would you consider to be the 'proper' way to name them?

My directory structure is Top Gear > Season 14 > TopGear-s14e01.avi

The individual file names do vary a little, but that's the basic layout... Is that not suitable?

http://boxee.zendesk.com/entries/42693-correctly-naming-local-media-files for details. Though in your case, I would replace that first dash with a period.

Also, you can manually search/resolve items now. Go to Files / Unresolved Videos and use the "identify video" icon.

I have all my seasons in one folder: Top Gear but that should not matter.

You can use and mix match spaces . - _ for TV or movies.
Just make sure that for two word tittles they are separated with space or . _ - or it will not index properly. So, Top Gear should not be connected as one word.

My file names are all like this: Top.Gear.S14E01.avi

You could use: Top Gear S14E01.avi or Top_Gear_S14E01.avi or Top Gear.S14E01.avi etc etc.
