Ok, I am not sure what to have titled this thread so I apologize if it is misleading or not descriptive enough, but I am working on an application that will interface with MythTV using the MythTV protocol, the trick is that the video will be of varing formats depending on the turner but it won't be a URL, flash, or mms protocol. I was looking at the Python API for the Player and I don't see any way to actually feed the Player a valid media stream.

Basically the premise is that there will be a python module with the app that will connect to the MythTV backend and request a stream, from there the backend will start to send blocks of data. One option is to write this data to a temporary local file and perhaps have the Player access that.

Anyways I was wondering if someone one there might have some insight on how to do this with the Boxee media player and/or advice, etc ..

Thanks,
-Erik

I too am curious if there is a way to do this. I have some .srtm files which open through the Boxee File Manager. However when I put them at a URL and built a custom RSS feed, they can't be opened through a Boxee app.

Ideally, I'd like to setup an app that opens these files w/o having to send through a URL.

Any ideas?
