View Full Version : Downloading subtitles for streaming content.

Like the title says, I would like it if support for automatic downloading of subtitles for streaming content was added in future releases. There really isn't a reason why this shouldn't be there. There should be a button, just like there is in the latest release of Boxee for local content(which works great BTW), on which when I click I can choose a language and then the subtitles are automatically downloaded... You know what I'm talking about if you are using the latest version of Boxee.

The only problem for the devs, that I can think of, is that with streaming content, the player immediately starts counting how much time has passed since the playback started(before the flash player loads), so that could make the subtitles go a little off. Other than that there really isn't a reason this feature shouldn't be there.

Should I be writing this somewhere else(bugzilla)? Cause once I posted a bug/feature request here I was told that the devs don't visit the forums and I can't find the bugzilla now.

This is now the place to post feature requests, yes. Bug reports go to http://jira.boxee.tv and support tickets go to http://support.boxee.tv

Ok, then, thanks. I have already made a support ticked just in case, before I saw your post, but I guess it wasn't necesarry.

So you will tell the devs to make this available in some of the future releases or will a dev come to the forums and see this thread? Will I/we know if(and when) is this going to be built in, or will we just have to wait and see?

Thanks for a fast reply.

I'm not entirely sure of the process but Marcel (from Boxee) has asked that feature requestes be posted here; as far as if/when, that definitely tends to be a wait and see kind of thing.
