Boxee is cute, but this technology promises to accelerate bring the web to the TV, perhaps www.web-to-tv.com would be a good name to market the product with??

Nice: The domain www.Web-to-TV.com is available for purchase.

I should suggest my digitalconvergence.com domain, as that's what we are doing at boxee. :)

Not.

well... i personally think boxee has no chance on the market if it's not renamed 'agentlame'.

while agentlame.com isn't currently for sale... everyone one has their price. ;) *couch*4million*cough*

you have my email.... serious offers only, gentlemen. :p

I disagree completely with "web to tv". That's really, really, really terrible.

Boxee is better. It's nondescript. That's important because it's already much more than "web to tv". In the future I imagine it will be more still. Giving it a really specific name really limits it.

"Boxee" is like "iPod" in that it's meaningless. And that's a good thing. "Tivo" doesn't mean much of anything either, but it's become a name like Kleenex or band-aid where it describes generic products. Jell-o, iPod, Aspirin, Q-Tip, Magic Marker, etc, etc, etc. "Web to TV" can't do that.

"Web to TV" sounds a lot like WebTV, which sucked and failed miserably.

I agree, "web to tv" sounds pretty specific and limiting, and not necessarily what boxee does.

I also think it's important to NOT associate itself with the "web". It's a social media player. It happens to be able to get content from "the cloud" but that's not the point. Their press release about the venture capital makes it clear that the goal isn't to stream web content on your TV. It's to enable users to watch the multitude of available, often free content (regardless of source) in a social manner.
