any way to log into your youtube account so you get your personalized feed? also, where is the youtube app? In addition how do you view videos in HD? All the videos look terrible on my Boxxee Box, I have other players that can do Youtube and the PQ is MUCH better then what the Boxxee Box displays.

Yeah, there are so many youtube-based apps, but the regular Youtube app is just plain missing. And wasn't there a Vimeo app too?

Video in Leanback looks great on my unit.

Regular YT app is now gone. Not sure why.

Vimeo is gone too. Edit, corrected my inaccurate posting on this one.

My personal gripe is that While Youtube Leanback looks nice (it does!), the remote control functions are not the same as 'normal'. The play/pause button does not function, the left/right buttons do not work; instead, you must click the center button, then navigate to what you want to do. There is no continuity of functionality.

Also, since most of the 'apps' are really just links to youtube, why do they open in a 'zoomed in' webkit browser with either a glowing green bar at the bottom of the video, or the youtube progress bar at the bottom? Why not just open up in Youtube Leanback? It's no fun when you watch a video that has a popup add, because getting it out of the way is a huge pain.

I'm looking forward to the updates that will fix these glitches.

when I sign in to my personal account from "signin" and enter my google login and password it takes me to a youtube terms and conditions page from which there is no escape. Still haven't figured out to get my personal youtube leanback

waiting patiently for an answer to this. Leanback can be interesting, but surely there should be the plain old YouTube app available.

The Youtube app might ahve been one of the apps that didnt make it to the initial launch as it needs to be re worked for the new UI implementation. Once that gets done it will probably be released.

Yes, its fairly easy. Im doing this from memory so bear with me. if you click down where the categories are, there should be one for "Your feed". When you click on it, it asks you to log in and brings you to a log in page. now there is no mouse, but if you just press "Enter" on the keyboard, it should refresh the page and, at least for me, bring up a mouse where you can navigate to the username and password boxes. Once you log in (make sure the "remember me" is checked) you can now receive your feed.

I kind of don't find it super useful because it only plays suggestions, and i havent found a way to play your queue. however there is searching, and for me all of the youtube videos I have ever played have been in 720p when available. not sure why others are not getting that.

To simply play one you tube video, you could always use this bookmarklet:

http://www.boxee.tv/watchlater

Any supported video (youtube is) will show up in the "Watch later" section of boxee.

I think web logins broke a little bit ago. They have addressed the issue and I think there is a jira ticket stating it is complete and should be within the upgrade. Hopefully someone can confirm...

You know, it is the strangest thing. All of my videos play in 720p. Maybe thats because what my tv is set to

YT plays at the highest available resolution for me. It'll play 360 up to 1080 if it's available.

I hope somewhere, somebody puts together a really slick YouTube app for Boxee Box. Being that YT is such a major part of the web now, I'd think a web device like BBox would have better support for it.

They do:

The PC is much better at browsing the web than the bbox ever will.

I don't really bother with my YT account, so Leanback works well for me, it takes a bit of poking around to figure out how things work. All my Leanback vids play in HD when available and Vimeo works great for me as well. Although there are some videos that just don't work in Vimeo...for some strange reason.
