Just got my shiny new Boxee box... and I'm worried it's a paperweight.

I applied the most recent update.

Trying to watch the following shows from my "Watch Later" queue results in the message, "This video is currently unavailable."

Community s02e08
The Office s07e08
30 Rock s05e07
Bones s06e06
Undercovers s01e08
Psych s05e10
Running Wilde s01e06
House s07e06
The Event s01e07
Lie to Me s03e05
Raising Hope s01e07
Family Guy s09e13
Outsourced s01e08

... and about 99% of the other popular shows to which I've subscribed... Very very few shows are working.

Another issue:

Terriers s01e09 takes me to an episode of Sons of Anarchy...

:-(

Not feeling good about my purchase at the moment.

Anyone else having the same troubles? Anyone else find any resolution.

I believe these shows are coming from Hulu and it has been blocked until Hulu Plus is in place. I could be wrong but I think this is the issue.

The Netflix app isn't there either... If Boxee/DLink doesn't find a way to get these shows aren't back (especially given that they show up in the Boxee popular shows menu and work on my PC), this thing is getting returned. Feel like I've been robbed! Deceptive!

Are you in Canada? That could be why some content is blocked??

I think (can't check myself now) there's an option to hide content that isn't available in your location. You might want to check that rather than being frustrated in getting denied access to stuff you think you can get.

Give them some time to get the Netflix sorted out.

No - I am in the continental US. I have the option to hide content not viewable from my location turned on too...

pcgizzmo is right - you probably have thise queued from Hulu and unfortunately hulu does not work with the boxee box. Soon enough we will have hulu plus and netflix but for now its a not go...although many of those shows are available through fancast.

Hulu - Not Supported
Netflix - Not Supported
Local Content - Bad Interface

Boxee bowed to their corporate masters and sold us out.

So I tried to play How I Met Your Mother s06e08 through FanCast. I get audio, but no video. Even if FanCast WAS working, how would I choose which service to subscribe to when favoriting a show in Boxee? (avoid using Hulu and use Fancast instead).

This joke is getting less funny by the second. I am not in any way pleased...

I know you don't want to hear this...but have some patience, bugs will get worked out. It looks like most of the episodes you're wanting to watch are the latest. On most of the Canadian TV feeds, the content is a week behind. Mind you Conan is updated daily. The shows are coming for free, so you can't have everything "now" it's sometimes just the way it is.

I don't think you can consider it a paper weight after one day for the issues you're having. You're going to get mis labeled shows/movies on all streamers. Sometimes you can work around it, sometimes you can't.

There's always EZTV if you can't bare to wait - http://eztv.it/

Even if FanCast WAS working, how would I choose which service to subscribe to when favoriting a show in Boxee? (avoid using Hulu and use Fancast instead).

You don't do it by service, you do it by TV Show. So for example, pick a show from the TV Shows screen, say, How I Met Your Mother.

When you're viewing the Show screen for How I Met Your Mother (all the episodes are listed) you'll see a star in the upper right corner -- if you're not already "subscribed" to the show (e.g. it's not a "favorite") then it will be white. Click "right" on the remote, the star is blue when you've navigate to it, click "select/ok" (middle button), and then click "left". The star is now yellow and will show up in your Watch Later as new episodes are available.

If you're coming to this from beta, this is the same as using the "add to my shows" and "queue" combinatation, now it's just Favorites and Watch Later.

And as before, when you pick an episode, all the possible choices (source/service, local) will show up to choose from.

Easy work around to this guys. Add Fuzzthed's Third-Party Repository (http://boxee.zendesk.com/entries/62508-where-can-i-get-some-repository-addresses) and look for an App called Boxee Browser. I've had no problems viewing videos from Hulu when using this browser.

Not that I really want to see commercials, but it seems on Fancast and other sites, when it goes to commercial, the commercial audio plays, but the video is frozen on the next frame of the show I was watching. The commercial video doesn't play.

No such application in that repository...

I think try using just the regular Boxee Browser directly from the main Apps screen. I was able to access Hulu videos with it yesterday...
