While waiting for Netflix to appear I am trying to get to know more of the apps available for the Boxee Box.

I've seen several posts about Navi-X. At first glance, it looks like the answer to my non-Netflix stream needs (could remove the need for Hulu+) but I'm lost on how to use and configure it for my needs. The video on the Navi-X site has no sound so it hasn't been very helpful.

For instance, I go to TV shows and find Masterpiece Threatre. The day before I watched one of the Sherlock Holmes episodes via the Boxee Box browser. When I open Sherlock Holmes in Navi-X, I only see previews (clips). How do I get to the actually episode?

In this particular case, I believe that those online videos are no longer available I say this because a) I've watched this series so I know exactly which content you are talking about, b) they were on the PBS site (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/sherlock/series1.html) previously and it stated they were only going to be available for a limited time, and c) and now the full episodes are no longer available on the site.

Wow, I guess I better be aware of expiring content. Thanks.

I'd actually be interested in a short direction on how to use navi-x on the boxeebox.

I'd actually be interested in a short direction on how to use navi-x on the boxeebox.

Go to Apps and then Repository (top fly-out menu). Add the Navi-X repository address.

Navi-X Repository: http://navi-x.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/boxee

You can type the address in manually on the Boxee Box or if you also have the desktop version, you can just copy and paste it in.

yah..i think you just surf around the site for good episodes...no need for an in depth tutorial...find a show that you like and hope that its there...

speaking of which, i watched some episodes of the ol' knight rider episode...the quality was pretty amazing....oh yah..the newer version of the show is also there (under NBC)...some streaming shows look HD like to me as well...

Thanks for the setup details...I was overwhelmed by the amount of content on there...but then the very first thing I tried to watch gave the blue ring of death...as did the second...the third played though ( an ancient NG docu about gators and crocs).

I don't know if it's a regional thing or not, I live Canada, but Navi-x seems to crash almost every time so far...

Please take a readd through the Nav-X thread in the announcements forum....That will give you most of the answers you need for this app....Since all of the content is aggregated from other sources there is no way to guarantee that it will work....There is more detailed explinations in taht thread, where this talk should continue if needed ;)

Hey folks, let's keep all the Navi-specific issues in this thread here: http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=18376

This way IronBill will be more likely to see your posts, etc :)
