Hi all

I've tried watching Wallander and now The Killing on Boxee (Windows and AppleTV 1) using the BBC iPlayer app, and the English subtitles are partially cut off at the bottom of the screen. I've tried changing the video format and overscan etc. but nothing seems to make a difference.

Has anyone else noticed this, and if so have you found a fix?

Many thanks

Tim

i have found exactly the same thing. It seems to be ok after a restart of the PC and then after a few seconds my screen will change aspect or size and the subtitles are chopped off the bottom. I have played with the aspect settings in Boxee and cannot make a difference. i don't get this problem with video play back on MythTV or when I use a browser to stream the file.

Would really like to know thoughts!

Cheers,

Martin.:)

yep, same problem here. this issue is affecting all bbc iplayer content, not just wallander, but it really only becomes an issue when viewing a program that has open subtitles at the bottom of the screen. program begins playing normally but then after several seconds the aspect ratio changes (video gets slightly larger) and there also appears black bars cropping the top and bottom of the screen. tried adjusting every setting inside boxee to fix, but nothing keeps this from happening.

seems to have been that way since the last boxee software update came out, perhaps a new software bug? i have been viewing wallander and other programs with subtitles (open captions) in firefox or chrome browser windows to work around the problem (not an issue there), but it would be much more convenient to be able to watch everything on boxee with my remote!

system info:
mac mini (running leopard) and macbook pro (running snow leopard)
these htpc's are attached to two different 16:9 lcd tv's (sony 1080p and samsung 720p)
same problem on both systems and both tv's
both have the most recent boxee version installed

have not tried reverting to an older version of boxee yet, but might try that soon if a new version that addresses the issue doesn't come out.
