Hey I just wanted to see if anyone out there uses these programs. It would be convenient to find a Boxee user with these programs for troubleshooting and config notes.

Yes, just search the forums :) Plenty of folks using one or both. I use sabnzbd but not sickbeard and it's working without any problems.

If you have an issue in using either, it's probably not Boxee related as such -- you might have better luck contacting the support/forum for the software you're having issues with.

About the only thing I haven't figured out is how to close the circle with Sickbeard & torrents. When Sickbeard finds a show on a torrent it downloads the torrent file and hands it off to a blackhole directory that Transmission monitors. Transmission does the download fine, but I haven't sat down and figured out how to get it to tell Sickbeard to rename and move the file. It just hasn't been a priority as 99% of the time it's pulling nzbs instead and handing them off to sabnzbd+.

The Usenet/sabnzbd+ end of things is working well for me and if it wasn't for an ongoing issue with one series being numbered differently by the Boxee backend than the nzbs I'd say it was working perfectly! Yeah, I know. There's just no pleasing some people. :o

Well I'm not having problems as much as I was trying to start a dialogue for tips and tricks like which servers people use and like, if post processing is really necessary with boxee etc... I just thought it would be nice to know if anyone using these programs had a boxee as well.

I have sickbeard "following" a handful of shows and after they air it will download the NZB, send to SAB to download it, which sends it to my NAS which is being monitored by Boxee.

I suppose any post-processing would be dependent on your set-up; for me, sabnzbd+ just "does it" all. It has a renaming function, if I recall, and so you can make your filenames Boxee-compatible. Been doing this for over a year, maybe even two now...

My setup is very similar, though I skip sickbeard and use an RSS feed from nzbs.org and use sbanzbd+ to filter/catch the shows I want. I also have the sabnbzd+ add-on for Firefox so that when I do visit various (most?) nzb sites, there's a sabnzbd+ link that will send the nzb file directly to sabnzbd+.

The only time I tweak sabnbzd+ is to add a new show to filter from the RSS feed...

And like I mentioned, searching the forums will bring up plenty of similar threads, including this one: http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=19951 which isn't sabnzbd specific but has some interesting setups nonetheless :)
