your vista machine has no problem playing m4a music files? Can you manually try and recognize the file?

yes i can, i can play them on boxee too i just wanted to know if there was an automatic way of adding the files, i figured out the codec problem (and felt like an idiot for forgetting about the codecs)

I have the same issue: mp3 files get recognized, however, m4a won't get indexed. Upon pressing 'a' to get the library stats, I indeed see that Boxee has scanned my libraries but has marked most elements unresolved.

I can manually go into my iTunes folders and Boxee would play the m4a songs. Manually recognizing the song works. Boxee suggests a list of options that indeed includes the right album, however, does *not* allow me to select it (neither mouse nor keyboard). Also checked other forums, no solution. Or is there?

... just realized that I put my post into a arong thread which started off with Vista reference (there is a second thread on same topic here (http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=3575&highlight=m4a+index)) . I am using Mac/OS X 10.5.6.
