BluRay ISO
file does not play
I don't see BluRay / ISO as a support media format
is this true ?
Does the new firmware for the actual boxee box have support for this type ?

Yes - BD ISOs are supported on the BBox (using the RC2 frmw and previous frmws) - what tool/app did you use to rip your BD ISO(s) with -- AnyDVD HD is pretty much the gold standard for this scenario

Your issue could be with SMB if you're accessing the BD ISO(s) over your network using the latest RC frmws

ok, well did some messing around
definitely doesn't not play ISO format (of BluRay disk) but
you can:

find
\BDMV\Stream\0001.m2ts
copied that over to Harddrive
renamed it to name-of-movie.m2ts
and file played

the file by default, played french but, through audio options in Boxee, you can select English as well

Very cool

I am currently using Windows boxee
and it doesn't 'support the format' of the ISO
but, i asked about firmware for actual boxee box, because I am thinking I need to get it
saw it in action today and it performs waaay nicer (with online content) then the windows version, from what I could tell

oh, an i didn't 'rip' it
i just simply copied that m2ts file over to harddrive and it just worked
MAKEMKV would be the tool i use to rip dvd/bluray disks

The current version of Boxee on Windows does not support Bluray Iso's. However, in the Fall, Boxee 1.2 should be available on Windows and will allow for Bluray ISO support.

I also have issues with audio not playing on BD backup files but have not tried an ISO file. Is the ISO the way to go now? I do not want to handle my BD collection as it is so easily damaged and wish to rip the ISO to my network drive for easy playback.

Can anyone give me an idea of if or how to get this to work? Will I then be dealing with the HD audio drop out problems?

I found this info
http://adubvideo.net/how-to/backing-up-blu-rays-with-bd-rebuilder

Anyone have a better tutorial that is just a little simpler?

Will Boxee do 3D movies if done in an ISO format?
