i just got boxee! so happy. the only catch is it won't open. i have a Sony vaio AR-630E laptop running vista that is very powerful. i don't remenber the exact specs. when i open boxee, the screen goes a new taskbar window opens and the screen goes black. in about ten seconds it closes out of the black screen and the new taskbar window is gone. after this nothing happens. any insight would be great. thank you. the name of the program it opens is sdl_app :cool:

I don't have any problem with Vista Home Premium. I'm running Boxee version 4825 released 1/8.

Hope someone can help you get it working.

you need an opengl 1.4 compliant video card... sounds like that thinkpad doesn't have one.

what does it say in:
device manager > display adapters

(as a side note, please be more considerate about your support requests... bumping twice in one hour is considered rude...
we all work hard to help people, around here.. and get to threads as quickly as we can.)

merged your threads... do not double post or spam support requests... the only think you're doing is making my job harder.

i do have the logfile but i don't want to post it in the fourm because it is very long agentlame, is there a way i can link a file? I have a Nvidia GeForce 8400 M video card. it has openGL but i am trying it a little differently. i'll tell you how it works out.

Turnout: it crashed when i turned the extension limit on.

The graphics card is openGL2.1 compliant. so it should work http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_8M_techspecs.html.

I restarted a few times to see if that would make a difference. what happens now is the screen goes black like it is loading thenthe mouse changes to a pull arrow <-> kinda like that. then it quits.
