I'm trying to add additional media sources for music. The source I'm adding is a local drive, I have manually added it in. After I add the source it pulls a few artists and then stop. The folder I'm adding isn't crazy big (40GB) and is decently organized. If I browse to the local music folder I added under music sources I can see the entire folder and all its subfolders and content of each. I can scroll through and play whatever I would like but I want to avoid this process. I'm thinking about moving the music to the default boxee music folder but I would like to keep them in their current location. Any advice/help?

I let Boxee run all night and it cataloged the entire music source that I added. I guess it just needed time. I'm not sure if this is a know issue with the windows version but I have been running Boxee on Linux for a little while now and cataloging the same music collection took no time at all and it was over a network.

Anyhow great work Boxee crew!!

I'm having a similar issue except that I let it run all night and when I checked this morning there are now LESS items in all sources, Music, T.V., and Movies.

I then clicked it again and it had even less, now there are just two albums listed out of over 500. Last night there were 17.

Any suggestions?

Ouch...

I'm not sure if this will help but befor I let my system run overnight to catologe the share I removed all my local shares from boxee and everthing that was tied to them and let it start from scratch.

After I updated to the latest boxee version, my whole database disappeared, and letting it run doesn't seem like it catalogues much new; either that or it's just incredibly slow now compared to the earlier version... I tried erasing the database right now just in case, we'll see how that goes..

EDIT: That seemed to do it. Guess for the next upgrade I'll just delete my App.support settings and make sure I do a clean install... (did they tell us this on the download page?)

So I tried deleting all of the shares, let it run run 4 hours and checked: now I only have 3 artists and 2 tv shows out of 100's. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and now I have 1 artist and no tv shows.
I guess Alpha means it may not work for all of us?

Can anyone who got it to work let us know what you did to make it show all shares?

FYI: When I choose "browse" it shows everything correctly, including album art. It is the simply choosing Music, TV or Movies that doesn't show correctly. using browse simply takes too long. It takes 100's of clicks to scroll through everything and it would then be easier to burn to a disk and place in a cd player.

More suggestions are helpful... thanks for everyone's help thus far.
