Hi everyone. I am new. I have a question about accessing Flickr. If I search by tag, I can find my Flickr photos, but if I search for my own user name and try to add myself as a contact, it says not found.....

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jake

I'm having the same issue. In fact, I've never gotten Flickr to work in any of the builds I've tried it on.

There's nothing in the Wiki that explains how Flickr user names are supposed to be formatted. (actually nothing at all about photos )

I've tried:
'atanguay'
'N45555274@N00'

Pretty much every variant of a Flickr ID I could think of...but I get nothing. Also, this dialog box doesn't wordwrap properly, so if you have a long URL, you miss part of the message.

I think we need somebody to shed a little light on how the Flickr plugin is supposed to function.

You should be able to just add your flickr account..please try again and send me your debug logs (http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=377)

Same problem.

I zipped and attached the Log file.

try your name ..this seems to be a bug on flickr's site..

I'll be darned, that works. Thanks.

So, basically, to get a new user into Flickr you use the user's current display name? That seems strange since the ID that you choose that gets set in your URL and this Flickr ID format... N45555274@N00 cannot be changed.

I can go in and change my display name at any time, breaking this method.

Thanks again

I figured out my issue - apparently, my Flickr account was set to not show up in any public searches, due to some conversion protocols that Flickr follows for people with old accounts.

I changed that setting and voila! My pics show up!

Now I do wonder though - I can look at "favorites" (it is empty) or "recent" (about 20 photos). Is there a way I can view by tags, or view the whole collection?

Thanks for any input, btw. <3 Boxee.

Yeah, I had to play with this a few weeks ago too. Was not sure if it was your Yahoo email name or Flikr Screen name. Turns out it's your screen name.

Also, there is a bit of a delay after you submit it too. I ESC out of photo then came back and my account was then showing....:D

I've had a problem with flickr where I can find my account, and I can see all my photos, but they're all EXTREMELY low res and when I select a photo, it just brings up a blank screen. I've checked my flickr settings, and my photos are open to the world, even the rss feed for my photos shows the full resolution.

This is the rss feed for my photostream: http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?id=51035737534@N01&lang=en-us&format=rss_200

the username is fracmak

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm having trouble with the Flickr app on my profile. Others seem to work alright, but mine (DarrylW4) doesn't have any options when I go in. I'm running boxee on both the AppleTV and the Mac Mini (10.5.6) getting the same results.

Check the Wiki for information on getting this working.

I wrote it up myself. It's a big buggy.

I'm having a problem with the Flickr plugin in that it will only show 20 pictures in a set regardless of the total number of pictures in that set.

For example, I'm viewing a set which boxee tells me has 57 pictures but only 20 of them show up when I view the set.

Is this a limitation of the Flickr RSS stream?

Please update this plugin to allow us to login to our Flickr accounts. I have many pictures set as private or with other privacy restrictions that I cannot access through the RSS feed. Thanks!

Yeah, it's using the RSS feed for this, so you're only going to get 20 items.
