Here is an item I found while searching the other day, you can get a ATI 4350 512mb low-profile card for a real good price.

I believe it is 40$ + tax and you also get free shipping, then take off another 15$ from a mail in rebate.

Here is the link for anyone that is looking to build a HTPC with a good graphics card:

Keep in mind that for this card to work well in 2D under linux you will need the latest open-source "radeon" (not "radeonhd") driver which is not included with ubuntu 8.10. The non-free driver and radeonhd will have 2D tearing because they don't yet support accelerated 2D. Also, the "radeon" driver doesn't yet support sound over HDMI (although the radeonhd does).

So you can either build the latest open source radeon driver for 8.10 or update to Jaunty Beta which includes them by default. Unfortunately the combination of Jaunty Beta and this driver seems to break boxee (for me at least).
