View Full Version : torrents still not downloading

Hi guys -

Great work with Boxee -- I just started playing around today and I can already see the enormous potential.

I'm having some issues, though, with using it to download torrents, even though that was supposed to have been fixed for this release (right?). If I click to download a torrent file, and then go to my queue, it says "Error! cannot find download directory" or something to that effect. I'd type the exact error message but right now my machine is actually frozen.

Any thoughts on that?

just to make sure i understand - when you go to "downloads" in the main menu (on the left) you get this error message?

Hey guys. I'm running Boxee on Apple TV.

And, yes, the error pops up when I go to Downloads.

Let me know if I can provide any more info!

it will be cool if you can ssh to the machine and see if you have the following directory:
~/Library/Application Support/BOXEE/UserData/Torrents

in general - i would advice you to just start over and install boxee from scratch because it sounds like something went bad during install.

I'm having the same problem ... maybe. My torrent page wasn't showing any traffic, but when I ssh-ed into the system and pulled up the rtorrent screen session, it showed that it was downloading.

On a slightly related topic, I don't believe rTorrent support UPnP. I had to open the dynamic ports to my ATV so I could actually get some real speed out of my torrent usage. I'm sure that's documented some where, but I was way to lazy to look for it :D
