It'll just show up in the apps section. However, my assumption is that you'll be rejected from official repository because you're scraping content. It's a fine line to walk...but without authorization from the content holder I don't think Boxee will approve the app.

Oh, so if I am scraping content Boxee won't let my app be in their official repository? Also, will Boxee revoke the signage of my app if they realize it is scraping?

You probably can't get in, not saying it won't, but probably won't. And no, they won't revoke your signature (they haven't yet, and I doubt they would), that's there for verification purposes.

I'm of the opinion that they don't much care what the apps in the 3rd party repo's are doing (as long as it's not malicious) but they have to protect themselves in their own repository from things that could bring copyright/DMCA/legal issues their way.

Of course it's all just my opinion...

There is no way that Bartsidee's app has cleared authorization from all of its sources, I'm pretty sure. Until Boxee began negotiations for Hulu + I doubt they asked before scraping Hulu. There is no way that every repository in fuzhead's repo list has clearance in writing before scraping. I think you are making a barrier that isn't there.

Exactly...which is why these are all in the 3rd party repositories, and not the main Boxee Repository.

Exaclty. But that's not the case for apps submitted to Boxee to be included in Boxee's official repository.

If you have permissions from the content owner to include their content in your app, then it's usually accepted into Boxee's official repository (at least, that's my undestanding).

Thanks phikai and seand5018 for the clarifications. I just wanted to make sure that the work I am putting into this isn't for nothing. I am trying to reach out to the various sites to get their "blessings", but that is proving to be rather complex. Should I continue to try to reach out to these sites?

Rulo, I'm not sure why these shows weren't indexed by Boxee either. The Marvel ones are being retrieved by scraping the sites. However the other ones are just being retrieved by RSS. I am putting them through a parser script on my site to clean them up and centralize things, mainly for my own sanity. This way if a site changes the way their video is distributed, I can modify things in a central location and not have to worry about pushing out an updated app every time something changes. If I submit the apps to Boxee's repository, will they be added to the show database? Or will they just show up as apps?

I've also changed the region for the Nick Jr feeds to "US" and removed Canada because of region blocking. Hopefully I can find a way to get around this.
Here's another link of Franklin stuff:

SHollywood, I've been trying to work on the treehousetv.com site. However it is region locked to Canada and I am running into a lot of walls since I live in the US. Do you by chance know how to do packet captures with Wireshark?
