I think this will be one of the features that will really make boxee stand out. I will be glad to send emails and try to bring awareness to espn that this is a good idea. If you have email addresses or anything let me know.

ESPN basically flat out told me they aren't interested in it. Even after I re-explained it in as simplest of terms I could think of, no dice. They aren't interested in 3rd party apps that could interfere with their ISP affiliates interests.

With that being said, I'm now going the independent route with this app and will see what happens. The only real challenge I have is making boxee handle the plugin requirement correctly. I have a few ideas on how, so I'll keep you informed.

What may have to happen is everyone might have to manually install the plugin on their machines before adding the ESPN 360 app. That's my last ditch idea though, so we'll not mention it again for now, lol.

Have you tried talking to Move Networks too? I emailed 3 or 4 companies last week related to this suggesting boxee support before I found this thread.

Had no idea about Move Networks. I'll pop off an email to them later today and see what they have to say about it. Their website looks interesting. They might have some leverage in this since ESPN 360 is their client.

Does espn360 use the octoshape plugin? I believe I read somewhere that it does.

Since ESPN owns Major League Gaming, I'm excited to see how you get this to work because it will greatly help my MLG application.

I look forward to see how you go about doing this.

Will this ever work with Linux, or is their "player" entirely encapsulated in Flash?
