Default Debug mode

I think I did everything as the instructions say when trying to create a debug log, but I don't see the text at the top left of the screen.

Do I post the logs here or email them to someone?

I've experienced similar problems.

Are you using OSX? And if so, do you happen to have Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop installed?

Yes- 10.6
No Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop

Why do you ask if you don't mind me asking

For whatever reason, my computer identifies .xml files as Adobe Illustrator files. Needless to say, they're not compatible.

Try this:
Rather than creating a new xml document in TextEditor, duplicate an old .xml file in the userdata folder. I used bxinfo.xml. Open the file with text editor, add the <advancedsettings> data, save the file, and rename as "advancedsettings.xml"

Once you do that, you should see the white text in Boxee.

Yeah, it's inconvenient, and not intuitive since I think any xml file should be recognized by boxee...

:: poke marcel::
*perhaps* the support site could have a caveat regarding this issue?

What is the issue, exactly?

First, do a search on Jira.boxee.tv to ensure that your problem hasn't already been posted. If not, then create a new bug report, with a full, clear description of the problem (tip: error reports that avoid the use of "I" tend to sound more objective, and, in my opinion, sound less like a complant). Tag on the boxee.log, and click send.
