Default submitting custom feed vs. custom app

Forgive this very n00b question, but is the submission process just for custom apps (as opposed to custom feeds)?

In other words, if I design and build a MRSS feed for Boxee - following the Boxee spec - do I still "submit" it to Boxee, or do I just point people to it elsewhere (on my own website for example) and rely on people to add into Boxee it as one of their feeds?

Stepping back a bit, I noticed certain visual elements in the Boxee RSS Spec - in particular, the boxee:background-image. From a design standpoint, this is sufficient for what I want to distribute through Boxee; I'm happy for my content to just use the standard Boxee GUI. However I would like people to be able to discover my content in the Boxee Apps directory. What exactly do I need to develop and submit beyond the MRSS feed?

Make a rss app then submit it to boxee, or put it in a repository and submit to my all in one repo
