Exclamation Boxee Box: Subtitle Issue

I just received my Boxee Box today and love it. Despite the incredible lack of Apps right now, but knowing that its just day #1 and growing, I can easily over look it.

However, I'm having an issue with my subtitles on my MKV video files. The subtitles are showing once I press play but I want to shut them off. When I go to the video settings, the video and audio icons are lit up but the subtitles cannot be selected. How can I fix this? Is it a bug? It only happens to random files.

Also, is there an option to disable all subtitles by default? It is getting annoying disabling every time I watch a movie.

Thanks!

This is happening on my files, too. Frustrating to say the least.

Same issue here. Dual audio video files also seem to work sporadically at best but I'll let that slide subtitle issue is big. :/

I have a similar problem - I have English subtitles in the folder with a Korean film, but it seems like Korean subtitles are displayed by default. And there's no way to select a different sub file or anything, with the "Subtitles" option greyed out.

Are you sure the subtitles are not hard coded on the mkv file?

I have had issues with subtitles showing up when I start playing my mkv files as well, but I am able to shut off the subtitles, no problem.

I do this by pressing the ok button on the remote, once the file has started playing, which brings up the fast fwd, stop, etc. If you press up it goes to the settings where subtitles can be disable...Just making sure you are accessing the subtitle section from there?

No they are not hard coded. The subtitles option is greyed out completely. No options whatsoever. No hardcoding.

Yeah, that's how I'm trying to access it, and the subs definitely aren't hard coded. In fact, I can adjust them without a problem on the original firmware the box shipped with, though there seem to be a few issues with subs on that firmware as well. It's just 1.0 that it -completely- doesn't work with.

I filed a ticket with Boxee because I have found that .ass subtitle files which work in the boxee software version do not work with the BBox. Hopefully this and other subtitle issues are quickly fixed.

You do not see .ass subtitles? Are you all using the latest version 1.0.1.16125? Can you not change the subtitles via the OSD>settings >Subtitles?

Yes, I'm using the latest version. The OSD Subtitle option is greyed out, non clickable.
