Even manufactures of these drives can't use their own media player on them.

Then it's up to the boxee team to fix this with a update at their end.
64-bit or not, How hard can it be? The boxee only need to understand how to read the larger HDD's.

This issue is not going to go away, will only get worse in the new year.

Hi,

We just bought one of these HDDs. It should arrive in couple of days. Once we have it, we'll see what it takes to properly handle them.

WOW! That's awesome shay.
I had a feeling i *we could count you and the boxee team.
I wanna thank you and the team for taking an extra step to improve the box for the future of storage. With any luck on your end, maybe i can hook up my box again. I miss it!

Thank you, i will be waiting for any word on this

Default BoxeeBoxe and Seagate 3TB goflex

Hi,

We found out that the support for this type of drives exists in newer Linux kernels (>= 2.6.31) than the one we have (2.6.28).
We'll contact Intel and try to get them to move to a newer kernel as soon as possible.
We're not sure when exactly we'll support this type of disks as it's not completely in our hands.

Thanks a lot shayz Well, at least we *you have the answer now.
So if Intel updates this, can this just be done in a new firmware update?

Please let us all know as soon as you get a response from Intel on the matter.

Thanks again.

Default wait for the update or chose a 2tb external hard drive

I am in a dilema, do i go out and get a 2tb external drive or get a 3tb and just await the update.

If i go for a 2tb any recommendations???? as i have no idea which would be best. I would prefer the 3tb, however there is a question of how long it will take for the update.
cheers Matt
