2. Use the supplied "WD Quick Formatter.exe" and choose "Factory Default" setting.
Can anybody provide the "Quick Formatter.exe" file? I no longer have it...

Has anybody solved this problem yet? I bought a WD 3.0 TB USB 3.0 drive and can't get boxee to recognize it at all. I tried the steps above by formatting it with disk manager and then formating using WD quick format but no go. Of course this was after I had backed up about 100 Blu-ray mkv's on that drive which I then lost because I had no-where else to transfer them to. Is boxee still working on this or have they given up. Support for large drives is an important issue in my opinion.

This issue can not be fixed by Boxee alone, they must wait for Intel to supply them with an updated kernel and then this must be integrated into their firmware and pushed out to the BB. This will happen but don't hold your breath as they have other and closer alligators to slay first. I got tired of messing with the USB drive slow connection/lost permission thing and upgraded to a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo with 2X2 TB AF formatted drives. Damn this thing is fast compared to the USB drive, plus I have redundancy in case of drive failure. And a bonus is all the extra features. My kids live in Hawaii and love being able to access all of our photos and music via remote access. And if I ever need more space I just get the ReadyNAS NV/X with 4 bays and drop in my old drives, add 2 more and it updates automatically.

Make a backup before doing this. Just saying. If you've spent even a little time in the ReadyNAS forums you already know this though.
