I guess I'll have to connect my mac locally to the drive once a month and do a data dump I guess. Hopefully it can be fixed in the next firmware though.
I can't do it for you you need to go to the website register and then click on the button VOTE.

I emailed Avner (Boxee CEO) and got this as reply but not sure it's the same issue as on Jira it shows that it will be fixed on SP5 not SP3.

More vote quicker it would be fixed.

"Hi Cedric,

Fixing issues related to local playback are top of mind for us. You will see that the version coming out next week solves numerous issues related to playback.

I believe the bug you are referring to relates to SMB credentials not being saved between reboots. We fixed it in this release. Hope it will help. Dan Conti (our lead developer on all things SMB has been working on it).

We are spending more time on US content providers, but are also making progress in Canada, Australia and Europe.

Regards,
Avner"

Hi Guys,

Just been messing around, and managed to get it working.

Even seems to work after switching the BB off and back on again (which some other users reported having problems with).

Thanks for the help.

I still get the permissions error even after the last update. Journaling is disabled on my HFS+ drive, and I have "everyone" set to "Read & Write." I just connected it to my Mac to double-check, and those settings are correct.

The fix will be part of SP5 (v1.0.5); the most recent release is v1.0.4 (SP4).

Ok, I spoke too soon. A day later and I get the permissions error again.

Looking forward to the update... any new of an ETA?

If you power cycle the Boxee Box then the permission issue returns. There's been no official announcement (there usually isn't) but April has been mentioned...
