    ...

    I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 64bit

    EDIT:

    Got past all of the dependencies. I needed to relink /usr/lib/libGL.so to the one provided by the nvidia drivers to fix the problem above. I also needed libcurl4-openssl-dev and libmms-dev... however now I'm stuck at

    Code:
    /usr/bin/ld: jpeg-turbo/.libs/libturbojpeg.a(jccoefct.o): relocation R_X86_64_32S against `.text' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
    jpeg-turbo/.libs/libturbojpeg.a(jccoefct.o): could not read symbols: Bad value
    collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    make[1]: *** [../../../system/ImageLib-x86_64-linux.so] Error 1
    I tried recompiling with CXXFLAGS=-fPIC CFLAGS=-fPIC CPPFLAGS=-fPIC
    but still no luck
    I think I may have gotten it work by adding the -fPIC flag to the jpeg-turbo Makefile and make-ing it first by itself before executing the main Makefile.

    I'm getting the following error:

    No rule to make target `BoxeeHal', needed by `all'

    Anyone what might be wrong? I used the following configure command;

    ./configure --disable-ss-rsxs --disable-boxee-hal

    Update;

    I think I found the solution:

    2. In the main Makefile, I made the following change:
    FROM: all : Makefile externals Boxee BoxeeHal RecoveryConsole
    TO: all : Makefile externals Boxee

    I managed to build Boxee 1.1.2 on Ubuntu 11.10, following some of the recommendations in this thread.

    It loads, but barely anything useful works. Video doesn't display, no boxee browser. Is this pretty much what the source code offers, or can it more functionality be enabled with some tweaks?

    Boxee has announced they're going to release an updated version of the software for computers this fall. It may be something like v1.2 (they haven't said). Might just be easier to wait for that.

    I tried to mean I built 1.2.2. It looks pretty nice. I hope the follow through with their promise.

    Where I am, it feels like winter already, so I though the release would be available before.

    I'll just wait and see.

    according to some other chap on the forum who managed to get hold of the 1.5 beta from a boxee server, he also downloaded a windows and mac platform installation packages for boxee 1.5

    looks like whenever the 1.5 goes public, everyone will be singing from the same sheet (at last).

    I got the supplied deb file working (after fixing the libxmlrpc-c3 issue) however I wanted to try and see if I could get the source code working. I'm butting heads with an issue early on though. I keep getting this message.

    Code:
    config.status: error: cannot find input file: `BoxeeHal/server/Makefile.in'
    I've done a search for BoxeeHal and the only thing I could find was the fix in post #7 of this thread and even with that, I'm still getting the error message. Just hoping to get a little help.

    (I'm trying to use boxee-sources-1.5.0-3a626c6)

    Thanks!
