Default Boxee has left the building...

I really wanted this thing to work. After ~5 months trying to get it to consistently and correctly:

-play my VOBs (attached jpg is how my VOBs look, no other player i've tried does this)
-Stay connected to my NAS drives
-Not forget how many movies i have

I've been unable to get it to work. Seems like things got worse for me in terms of connecting to my NAS drives since the last update with Netflix. I really just need a local streamer that can play my files reliably, so I traded it out for the Netgear 550. We'll see how that goes...so far it plays everything correctly even if it doesn't aggregate all my files as nice as Boxee was suppose to.

    Thanks for everyone's help here...out.

Good luck with that.. Netgear has a history of putting out boxes and never update them.. I have the eva2000 they updated it once.. and it been at least 18 month since then.. i used it mostly for playon in the bedroom.. it a good little box just don't expect any update or very few.. in any case.. then they come out with new box and act of if they have nothing to do with the old....At least the boxee team is still updating their box it will only get better once they decide go completely in business and start actually providing vendor apps for services that folks can use and depend on.. mostly folks or just using app that been aggregated by someone who just went on the web and grab other folk links created an app for it . Taking no ownership for the link working or not..and as to local media if folk would follow the guideline boxee put out most of their stuff would work as it should in boxee..

so far the netgear works out of the box. Boxee couldn't play my VOBs from day 1 which is the only reason why i got it. Now it wont even stay connected to my NAS. Fail., epic fail.

I think I would buy the dune smart d1 before the neo. People with the dune seem to be really happy with local playback

Default Boxee has left the building too

    Hey
The boxee has been a great tool for organizing and playin my local content but Netflix was a huge factor in my decision and it still does not work. My goflex TV does not grab the artwork fromthe internet(atleast I don't think it does never looked into it) but it plays my files and netflix with no problem.

I have a goflex for out in the garage and it works great, it's just not very pretty. I would like to try the dune but it's pretty spendy. Plus, i like getting something local in case it doesn't work out and i need to return it. The Netgear has an issue playing youtube that i haven't looked into yet. But i can get netflix, pandora, youtube etc from a sony bd player. Like i said, i REALLY wish the boxee would have worked. Right now if i want it all i would probably have to set up another pc.
