Default rtorrent 0.8.4 for apple tv, block ips, iptables, use of proxy

Is Boxee going to update the rtorrent program being used. Version 0.8.4 is out and will enable safeguards for privacy. This is pretty much a standard in the use of torrent programs today. Version 0.8.4 offers blacklisting of certain ip addresses (updated automatically from bluetack). See the thead at the bottom of http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/ticket/239. This version also offers the use of proxies. Version 0.8.4 if available at http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/downloads/. There is a good article on the need for privacy at http://lifehacker.com/372633/protect...en-downloading.

Thanks for your consideration,
TPH

It is greet to see rtorrents in a devise with soo low(15w) power consumption. but it would be better appreciated with a config option to rtorrents(in the background) be started up at system login.

I think there is a way to have the ATV boot into Boxee. That would start rtorrent and so it would be running.

It would be better however if rtorrent could run with some privacy guards built in.

It so easy to set up, but it would be better on GUI

I think, We just need to add one line to /etc/rc.local:
sudo /Applications/Boxee.app/Contents/Resources/Boxee/bin/boxee-rtorrent &

I will test it tonight when I get back to home. If doesn't work I will try a startup script

I second that. I'm able to connect to trackers through proxy (see rtorrent man pages), but I'd like to see blocklists integrated (works like a charm in transmission).
