Description

For some reason, the Boxee Box is confusing two shows. It keeps on confusing "Accidentally on Purpose" with "The Vampire Diaries" and I simply cannot see what these two shows have in common.

When I enter Accidentally on Purpose it lists only two episodes; season 1 episode 8 and season 3 episode 2 [picture 1]. S01E08 being all episodes of Accidentally on Purpose when selected (giving me the option to choose what episode to play [picture 2]) and S03E02 being all episodes of The Vampire Diaries with the same symptoms as before.

When I try to identify The Vampire diaries manually (via NFO or Manual), the corresponding season disappears from the list, and an episode from another season from The Vampire Diaries appears on the list representing all the episodes for that show. (In this case, when I identify season 3 of The Vampire diaries, S03E02 [picture 1] being on the list, the list changes I now get a S01E07 representing all episodes of The Vampire Diaries, only now that season 3 episodes are at the bottom of the choosing list [picture 4]) Repeating this would only make an episode from Season 2 appear on the list, and repeating it once again brings us back to the beginning where S03E02 is in the list.

I've checked the NFOs for both shows and they are correct. As said, this issue occurs even when not using NFOs to identify.

I have even tried to reset my media library and rescan/identify everything again, thinking that this issue might have been from a corrupt database or something, but sure enough, after identifying everything, the same issue remained. And it's only these two shows that are affected, that I know of.

Hey Einar,

It's seems that we solved the issue, can you verify it please?

Be attention that there is a local cache to your box so please remove the specific episode, restart the box and try to rescan/identify everything again.

Best regards,
Asaf

Do you mean in the latest RC (1.2.1.20426)?

If so, I will install it later today and rescan my library to check.

The new version not relevant to the fixing but if you will upgrade the version it's probably fix the local cache issue.

I fixed it my going through all episodes of The Vampire Diaries (all 47) and manually removing them, one by one (a very boring task). After which I re-identified all episodes of Accidentally on Purpose, which then finally got recognized as a normal show again. After that, I went to unidentified files and identified all episodes of The Vampire Diaries, and they also got recognized as a normal show. So everything is back to normal.

This bug is weird though, since I did try to "clear media information from the library" and rescan/identify all shows and the problem still remained. Upgrading to latest version also didn't fix the problem. Nothing helped until I did that mentioned above.

Einar, can this issue be closed?
metadata was fixed and the shows should be identified correctly, if you are using NFO files for these shows, i would advise you to check that the tvdb id of the shows are correct, and that the NFO files are created according to boxee's NFO guidelines.

thanks
