Description

If Boxee is built from XBMC, then why can't it recreate the basic functionality of using .nfo and .tbn files to build the media library?

I've been using XBMC for a while, and all of my library files have .nfo and .tbn files for file information and thumbnails, and in XBMC, my library is complete.

Using Boxee is a nightmare compared to that. It won't read all the files, and spends hours trying to hunt down information on my media from the internet, and it usually gets it wrong! I've got the wrong images, no fan-art, sometimes even the language for some movies is incorrect. Boxee needs to default to the local .nfo and .tbn files first, and then, if no solution is available, it should go out to the internet to solve unresolved cases.

Comment [ @yavalt.. Then my apologies.. It seemed earlier in the discussions there was a strong resistance to local meta data and a desire to continue to 'refine' scraping.. While I agree refining scraping is desired, and scraping is the first line of attack for most users. Some of us will have media that will never be scrapeable.

Thanks and looking forward to meta data working. Especially hopeful we can define what is 'TV' and what is 'movie'.. ]
