Can you please provide the exact file name you are trying to manually resolve?

The file names of the series (single season) are:

Seven Ages of Rock - Episode 1 - The Birth of Rock.avi
Seven Ages of Rock - Episode 2 - White Light, White Heat.avi
Seven Ages of Rock - Episode 3 - Blank Generation.avi
Seven Ages of Rock - Episode 4 - Never Say Die.avi
Seven Ages of Rock - Episode 5 - We Are the Champions.avi
Seven Ages of Rock - Episode 6 - Left of the Dial.avi
Seven Ages of Rock - Episode 7 - What the World is Waiting For.avi

Despite the fact that the files do not follow the usual pattern SxxEyy, when I select the manual resolve feature I trim the filename to just leave "Seven Ages of Rock". BOXEE will retrieve the list of shows including the correct show name (as you can see in the attached screenshot), but as soon as I select the show name in order to retrieve the details, I get the "Unable to bring the movie details" error message.

This is not an issue,

you should rename the files according to this:

http://boxee.zendesk.com/entries/42693-correctly-naming-local-media-files

you should rename your files as a TV Show i.e. Seven Ages of Rock - E01S01 - The Birth of Rock.avi

When manual resolving a TV show file, Boxee tries to match the TV Show details, retrieved from the Search result with the local file name.
If the local file name has a naming convention which is Not familiar to Boxee, the manual identification process fails with the error message "Unable to bring the movie details"
This error is misleading and will be changed.

workaround:
Rename the local TV Show files into a naming convention which is supported by Boxee and run "Scan Source".
see the knowledge base topic: "Correctly naming local media files"

The work around works perfectly. I guess I don't understand why the scanner needs you to rename the files even when you are *manually* setting the TV series name... I guess it would be more intuitive if when doing this manually you could just force the season and episode number too.

However, as said previously, after renaming the files everything worked perfectly (except for the cover... I guess because there is no available cover for this TV series... would really be nice if you can just select a cover from the web using the Boxee browser)
