I was able to add this capability to the f and r keys using the following steps.

Close Boxee, then go to your Application folder and right-click on the Boxee.app and select "Show package contents". Navigate down to Contents/Resources/Boxee/system/keymaps and open up the keyboard.xml file in your favorite editor. Find the <FullscreenVideo> section, and add the following lines under the <keyboard> section.

<f>FastForward</f>
<r>Rewind</r>

Save the file, and the next time you launch Boxee the new keyboard shortcuts should be active. If there is an easier way to get this functionality please let me know.

Thu, 04 Mar 2010 02:22:58 +0200 support.boxee.tv/forums/117567-user-interface/posts.rss:117567:42850:235559 Tom Blankenship http://support.boxee.tv/entries/42850-boxee-keyboard-shortcuts "How do I add an RSS feed?" in User Interface - comment added by Max D'Ambrosio
Well after much tinkering I think I have a solution. With the previous version the above instructions worked, in the current release however I can't add a video feed. I've added one through the media page but it never shows up anywhere (even on that screen). I also added one directly to the sources.xml file with no good results. However, when I added it to the xml file and then tried to add it via the screen, it told me a feed with that name already existed... even though it wouldn't show it to me. Here's how to remove the password so that you can reset it.

1. Open the following file in WordPad or something. C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\BOXEE\userdata\profiles.xml Obviously put your username in there and you may also have to go to the Folder options and check "Show Hidden Files" in order to see the AppData folder in the first place.

2. Look for the profile section that has your Boxee user name in the
element. You should also see an element called <lockadult>. change it to false. then find <adultlockcode></adultlockcode> and remove whatever is in there.

3. Restart boxee and then you can go set a new password.

Wed, 03 Feb 2010 04:24:34 +0200 support.boxee.tv/forums/117567-user-interface/posts.rss:117567:46959:206704 Randy Winbush http://support.boxee.tv/entries/46959-adult-content-blocking "Setting-up media sources?" in User Interface - comment added by mike boussy
boxee only shows about half the movies in my computer movie file in the movie section of boxee. it does not seem to be due to file type (container) but just a random 1/2 of the movies get scanned and the others are "missing" . The Boxee development team is currently working on a solution. In the mean time, there is an alternative back-end solution. Thanks to a little trickery devised by jaaps, a user on the Boxee Forums, users can now watch mature Hulu content with a bit of file editing.

Setup

Install the latest version of Firefox.

Ensure you're running the latest versions of Flash, DirectX, Move, and Silverlight.

Firefox

Ensure Firefox is set-up to accept cookies.

Visit hulu.com and create a user account.

View a mature content video.

Close Firefox

File Editing

Here's the trick: Boxee uses a similar cookie system as Firefox.
